The Manchester Public Library salutes our dedicated volunteers who help the Library in many ways. Some come weekly, some seasonally, and some help out annually on special projects. From shelving books to reframing art work, we could not do it without you.

The Library could not offer the many services and programs we have throughout the year without the help of many hands. Over 60 volunteers contributed 1300 hours in FY2008. They help at every level to make Manchester's Library program a success. When you see one of the above volunteers, say a big “thank you” for making the Library a vital part of the community. We could not do it without them.

The Library is always looking for volunteers.  If you have a few hours a week or a month, and would like to be part of a community group, contact Dorothy Sieradzki or Mike O'Connor at 978-526-7711.

Carolyn Kelly loves to organize things.  In the library she feels a sense of accomplishment not felt at home.  Working in "the library gives me immediate gratification in a short period of time."

Thank you Carolyn!

"I enjoy being part of a place that I feel is a wonderful resource and I like doing something that’s part of our community.  Plus it’s been fun working someplace where everyone is so friendly and helpful."

Melinda Troensegaard

Thank you Melinda!

Starr Lloyd keeps an active mind by keeping active.

Thank you Starr!

Debbie Ledbetter volunteers at the library because she loves the people and the books she finds there and she enjoys contributing to the community.

Thank you Debbie!

"I have always loved books and libraries.  Volunteering in the Manchester Library allows me to keep track of the latest books.  I often find a book that I was not aware of, that I enjoy."

Robert Stewart

Thank you Bob!

I love little kids.  I am a little kid at heart.  I live next door to the library and can run over to put books away when I want.  It's a real challenge to keep up!This is a beautiful little library.  I am mostly impressed with all the programs that are available to children of all ages. And I am very, very appreciative of what all the volunteers do!
Thank you Penny Adams!

Penny Adams

Thank you Penny!

My four kids used this room so much, I like to give back.  I love a sense of order;  by finishing up one shelf I feel accomplished.

Elisabeth Clark

Thank you Elisabeth!

Giving back!  I love the library now and have since childhood.  what better way to spend my time than with like minded people and books.

Carol  McKenna

Thank you Carol!

"It's a lovely environment. I love reading and being around books is great."

Dominique Noriega

Thank you Dominique

Charlie Dalton-summer intern.  Charlie is planning ahead for college employment in an academic library.  Charlie worked with our staff to learn the library’s organization and process to give him the necessary experience for a job in a college library.  He plans to do his senior year community service here at the library.  We were very fortunate to have Charlie help out this summer.

Thank you Charlie

"I participate at the library because I see the world as an open book and it's just a fun way to enjoy your summer."

Emily Jaworski

Thank you Emily
